French videos for classroom viewing

As posted in previous posts:

Please have the video put on a USB or put on youtube as an unlisted video (this way the public or anyone can NOT see or find it) and email me the link at girouards@hdsb.ca

This helps us avoid technical difficulties and other issues.

A reminder that the scripts and/or story boards are due at the same time as the premiere of the video.

If you don’t know how to upload a video, the steps are here in pictures:

Video projects

The video projects are due Monday April 20th.

Revised: The groups that are presenting their videos for both classes are doing so Friday April 24th in Ms Zicaro’s class.

The students who want to present to their class only will be presenting on the Tuesday and Thursday.

I can’t wait to see them!!

Video due date!

The students videos are due at the beginning of the week of April 20th 2015. Please have it on a USB or put it on youtube as unlisted (this way the public can’t see it) and email me the link.
A reminder that the scripts and/or story boards are due at the same time as the premiere of the video.

They have a one week and two weekends to finish this project in class and at home.

Again the students can create whatever type of video they want (skit, how-to video, news show, documentary, vlog, commercial etc.) The only requirement is that they each speak a minute and a half.
Both classes will be viewing the videos together.
I am very excited to see the results :D!!

I am sending the pen pal letters tomorrow (Friday)!!!

I am sending the pen pal letters tomorrow (Friday April 5th)!!!

The other school is very excited to receive their letters :D!!

Please make sure if you have not typed and printed your copy that you please do so today (Thursday) to hand in to me tomorrow (Friday)!

Please send me an electronic copy as well for my records and so I can assess the final product!

Email these to girouards@hdsb.ca

Correcting pen pal letters

I have returned the student’s pen pal letters. Each class has two periods to work on the corrections at school (one in class and one in the lab). The corrected good copy of the pen pal letter should be TYPED.
When you have finished correcting the letter by using your sample letter (which can be found HERE) and a dictionary ( HERE), please copy and paste your work on the website Bon patron to see if you still have spelling mistakes (The Bon patron website can be found HERE).

I have graded the drafts and will grade the good copies as well. I am going to send the physical copy which will be handed in to me by the students. I am going to grade the good copy that will be sent to me by the students by email. This is another reason why you have to type your work.
Please email the copies to me at girouards@hdsb.ca

Class 5-2 corrected letters due date:  Thursday April 9 2015
Class 5-1 corrected letters due date:   Wednesday April 8 2015

Students who need more help or are on IEPs can come see me and I can extend their date till Friday April 10 2015.

Please note the colour code is on the corrected copy. I am going to send the letters this Friday.

Common mistakes to look for:

  • et = and
  • est = is
  • a/as = have
  • à = to (Ex: going to…)
  • ma = my (feminine)
  • mon = my (masculine)
  • mes = my (plural, more than one)
  • ta = your (feminine)
  • ton = your (masculine)
  • tes = your (plural, more than one)

If there is more than one it needs an S.

Remember to look at your sample letter!!!

Video projects

The students are very excited about their video projects! I am very excited to see their finished product :D!!

I have given them the freedom to choose whatever topic they want or interests them. It can be anything from a how-to video, a talk show, a short film/skit or anything appropriate their heart desires.

We will be viewing these videos as a class in a few weeks. At the time of the viewing I will ask the students to hand-in their scripts and/or story boards.

Please visit the project page for more information HERE
