For Parents

Please check the grade page and twitter (on the right lower side of the page) for updated information on what we are learning in class.

What you can do to help your child in French?

1. Make vocabulary flash cards and play some games with your child. You can also buy some at Walmart for 4$ flash cards

2. Encourage your child to review lessons daily, get them to explain concept and new vocabulary as well as write any new vocabulary down.

3. Encourage your child to attend French club on Tuesdays at 1st Nutrition Break. They can come for extra help, play French games, read French books, and listen to French CD’s, and make some French crafts.

4. Ask your child to watch one French television program (can be watched on the shows tab) or read a French book each week.

5. The public library offers books with tape or CD. Sign a few out and have your child follow along with the book and listening to how words are pronounced.

6. Talk about the benefits of learning a language and encourage your child to try to do their best.

7. Encourage your child to review their vocabulary list every night.

I guarantee if they do one of these things every night they will excel tremendously in French!  For reasons on why French is important please click here
