No homework?

There are lots of things that students can do when they find that they have “no homework”.

Here are a few suggestions:

• Review notes of recent lessons (especially the things in your reference section)

• Go on the various music pages and explore the videos and songs! (the Educational music page and the Modern music page)

• Watch a French TV show

• Go to the extra tab and explore different French sites and games

• Practice using the flash cards we have made in class, make new flash cards for new vocabulary and/or buy flashcards at Walmart. They cost 4$ and follow the Canadian curriculum. The words are also written in English as well as French so this is an activity parents or siblings can do with the student.

• Review unit vocabulary: make yourself a quiz, pair up with a friend, make flashcards, create a word search and exchange with a friend

• Read a good book (visit our school library as we are building our French section in the library) We have some comic books and easy graphic novels – the public library offers many French books and books on CD as well

• Organize loose papers in your binder (remember that everything has its place)

• Listen to French radio (90.3 FM for example)

• Watch French television shows (Cogeco cable channels 12, 66, 67, 68)

suggested programs: Ultimatum, L’Union fait la force, Des Mots et des maux, Les chiffres et les lettres, Fort Broyard, Les marmitons
